XIX March is a fresh, woody, aromatic scent created for Men and women in 2012 by perfumer Paolo Terenzi.

Review

This scent is the embodiment of Spring awakening. The citrus notes brighten the Lavender that thrives in the heart, while spices liven the wood and keep this scent light.  It s subtle and refreshing with a nice density. It can be worn to the office, out running errands, dinner and drinks with friends and can easily be dressed up for formal settings. It can be worn in all seasons, and maintains decent longevity for its lightness. It shares similarities with 212 for Men by Carolina Herrera.

Inspiration

Inspired by the night of the 19th of March – the verge of the spring equinox – it is a tradition in Italy to build a large bonfire (“focarina”) to burn up the left-over twigs and brush from winter and make room for the rebirth of spring. A world of folk stories sung around the bonfire and traditions come together in this complex fragrance.

Notes

Refreshing Orange blends with Green Leaves to form a comforting, earthy start. Fresh Lavender is enveloped with sweet Cinnamon and spicy Clove Buds, and a floral burst of Jasmine.  A warm base of soft Woods tangles with Vetiver, Musk and Nutmeg. The combination creates that subtle hint of masculinity, as does the first scents of Spring in nature.
